Weekend Recap and Goals

This weekend was all around amazing. I got to spend time with my amazing friends and finally took a leap out of my comfort zone and it totally paid off.

Friday Bails, Katie, and I went out to Chino Latino one of our favorite restaurants in uptown. We shared lettuce wraps, plantain chip nachos, and chicken tacos. It was super yummy and then of course we had to try out the new Nelson's ice cream in St. Paul.

Saturday I worked so nothing too exciting there...

And then comes Sunday! It started with a park workout with Bails, Katie, and Tia then we went to try a new waffle place in dinky town. Hands down delicious. We shared three waffles and it was perfect. We tried strawberry cheesecake, banana nut, and berry granola. I said adios to my friends and haleaded for home and had some quality retail therapy time with my mom and grandma and of course came out with a shizz ton of new workout clothes. After all that I took a major risk and finally went out with a guy from work and we had an absolute blast! I'm so glad I took the chance and tried something completely new.

Another piece of awesome news is that Bails and I got into a crazy twelve week challenge! I'm so proud of us. We totally deserve it. Just so y'all know I started this challenge at 179, by the end of twelve weeks I can promise you that I will be under 165.

Here are my goals and workouts for the week! I'm really going to try and blog more these next twelve weeks to keep you all in the loop and thoroughly motivated. In so ready to kick some massive butt and shed tons of time on my half!

Until tomorrow,

My quest bar obsession

You all know I have an addiction to sweets, but that's not nearly as bad as my addiction to quest bars. I seriously have a hard time making it to my workout every morning without one! It's a major problem.
Yesterday I went to GNC (my home away from home) and seriously my favorite guy was working and he knew exactly what I was there for.....see how bad this is....
Two new flavors were on my quest bar display!!! How was I supposed to choose? I am not sure how I did it but I ended up with a case of raspberry cheesecake, a case of coconut cashew, and an individual lemon cream pie....I tried the lemon this morning and holy moly it blew me away. If your family makes lemon bars like mine does you've got to try this; it tastes just like them! Talk about a guilt free dessert, snack, meal supplement, or just because!

Goals

I'll totally be the first to admit that I have been majorly slacking on the goal posts lately. So I'm determined to change that this week!

My goals for the week are:
Get 7+ hours of sleep per night
Only have one "treat" a day
Double workout four out of five work days
Be positive
Accept a new challenge
Blog at least 4 times
Practice my Spanish for at least 1 hour a day (Tuesday-Friday)

Here's a little one of my fave motivational pics because we all need to remember it's not all about the pounds we lose each week it's about how we feel and what we can do!
Today at boot camp we had the plank challenge test. It sucked I was dying after the first minute, as usual, but I stuck it out for 3:30!!! I felt like a million bucks until I stood up and saw all the other older people still going strong. Two people made it to 15 minutes. If that's not a challenge I don't know what is!

Until tomorrow (actually though),

Friends

I know I talk about these two crazies all the time, but seriously going more than 48 hours without contact with one of them sucks.

This morning Bails and I ran seven miles...I don't think I am ready for this humidity filled August half....I may die. By the last mile we were both dying and completely drenched.

After a shower and some good ol' complex carbs Bails and I hit the mall with Katie and Ashley for a little retail therapy.  I can't say no to a good deal, so I found some sweet tanks at Express and a new sports bra from VS.  You can't say now with coupons. I think it's safe to say that we were the only shoppers toting kombucha and wearing the athletic essentials.

I am so thankful to have these two in my life and I cannot wait for next weekends festivities!

The Best Man Holiday

I am usually not one to rave about movies, but this one is an absolute must.  Usually I can hold myself together throughout a movie, but this movie had me balling and laughing within minutes.

Watch a clip here!

You need to visit the nearest redbox and check it out asap!

Seriously.

Crazy Saturday

Since I told you Thursday about how intense work has been since the World Cup started I figured I had to share this...yep, that's my office.  It was very safe to say that I got absolutely nothing done during the two hours of the game, but it was totally worth it to see them all so happy.  Now were ready for the game on Tuesday! Go Mexico!

Yesterday was a jam packed day.  Katie, Billy, Kaitlyn, and I competed on my first mud run!  It was so much fun and I have never been more covered in dirt before in my life.  SO FUN!

After some calories Bailey and I went to babysit for my cousin.  The girls were so excited to meet Bailey and we even snuck in some extra fun exercise.  We killed some time at the park and went for an extra long walk on the way home.

After falling asleep on the girls' wood floors at 9:00, we were struggling to stay awake, we watched a movie and then headed to Katie's to help celebrate her boyfriend Billy's birthday!   There is never a dull moment when the three of us are together and I am so grateful to have such amazing, healthy, fitness fanatic, inspiring, friends.  Love you guys :)

Week in Review

This week was full of bootcamp and work, but really what's new there...

Been killing my workouts with some pre-workout help from my new friend and Avocare rep Josh.  He coincidentally is a granite driver who stops by my office with Spark samples every time he is in town :)

And Bailey my fave Isagenics rep brought me my first complete box of Healthy Chocolate.
A girls best friend to the max!
A  week isn't complete without some motivation!  This was Cardio Day Wednesdays post. All my friends woke up to this text at 5 am.  That kind of wake up call is why they love me...right?

Monday was my off day, so I legit did absolutely nothing.

Tuesday, I had to take a horrible class ALL FRICKEN DAY, 10 hours...the only girl...with 15 other construction workers...not how I wanted to spend my day.  At 6 o'clock I said peace out to my new friends and took my test to become a EPA certified Lead Contractor, so if you need me you know where to find me for all your fun renovation needs.

Wednesday night was dinner with HS friends, here's the pic of the complete outfit before I headed to work!
I also lost another pound this week (FINALLY).

The beauties
As many of you know, the world cup started today in Brazil and since I work with by far the best group of Hispanic men known to mankind I made them some cookies with my Mama tonight in order to celebrate Mexico's first game tomorrow! Go Mexico!
 I just had one...or two...and a bite of dough...or two....whoops

And a dopey Croix picture to leave you feeling wonderful :)

Until tomorrow,

Goals

As the months continue to fly by it is getting harder and harder for me to think of new goals to post each week...so this week I am going to try and set new fitness goals for the week in addition to the "normal" goals. We'll have to see if this ups the ante in the workout (and hopefully weight loss) department.

Normal goals:
Drink lots of water
Exercise every day
No junk food
Only one cheat meal and treat per week
Double workouts every day
Long run on Sunday

Fitness goals:
3 minute plank
1 sub 10 minute mile per run this week (check for today!)
Practice pull ups at least once (check)
Three short runs

Quinoa Pancakes!

I tried a new recipe tonight as a meal prep for the week.  Here's the link! Sara told me I can't eat my favorite multigrain waffles anymore.  :(  So she suggested I try a couple different recipes.  Katie sent me one here, but the website is down until Monday, but I'll try these next week.

Overall they are good, but definitely don't cook or taste like a traditional pancake.  I also added vanilla and cinnamon to the batter which helped give them some more flavor.  They are definitely a good alternative to the traditional sugary pancake :)  Give them a try!

Catching up and trying new things

As per usual this week has proven to be insane, but for real what's new in my life?  It is horribly depressing to say, but I cannot wait for August to be back at school and have more than three hours after work (or class) to like actually watch a show on television and not fall asleep....

Monday night I got to catch up with Katie and Bailey and as per usual we had a blast.  Those crazy girls never fail to make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts after. We tried a new restaurant in Roseville called Good Earth.  IT WAS SO HEALTHY AND CRAZY YUMMY!

I got turkey porcupine sliders.  Never fear there was no actual porcupine.  It was a turkey and brown rice patty with cranberries and spinach, with a field green citrus salad what else do you need?
 Obviously a wheat grass shot!
Bails and I braved it and gave it a shot (pun intended).  It was a once in a lifetime experience.  They were interestingly unique experience.  As much as they may not have been "yummy" I think I will be doing them a lot more because of their health benefits.

Monday morning it was back to boot camp and Bails and I had the brilliant idea to do the stairs after boot camp....not one of our most intelligent decisions...yep...that's sweat....over 500 calories in an hour and a half I think yes!

One of my favorite inspirations and bloggers MamaLaughlin (she's amazing and southern and a boss, like for real check out her blog here) instagrammed this workout.  Like for real? 100 f**king pull ups!  I want to do one.  Someday I hope to be as much of an inspiration as she is and I will complete this workout....eventually...like as soon as humanly possible.
